Ideal for local Legal Assistants with 2+ years of experience in legal or professional services settings. Having background in litigation is important when it comes to understanding the filing process and the Rules of Civil Procedure.
Responsibilities
- Serve as client liaison through email, phone, and in-person communication
- Follow up on case status, appointments, and billing
- Handle potential clients professionally
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal team
- Prepare legal documents and correspondence
- Manage calendars, court dates, and meetings
- Handle court filings and appearance preparations in State and Federal Courts and with the Division of Administrative Hearings
- File with State and Federal Agencies, including the EEOC, FCHR, NLRB, and DOL
- Maintain client files and documentation standards
- Contribute to process improvement
- Work proactively to solve problems
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 2+ years legal assistant experience (or similar professional setting)
- Experience with calendars, depositions, and expense management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software
- Employment law and terminology knowledge preferred
- Litigation experience preferred, including familiarity with Rules of Civil Procedure
- Strong interpersonal skills
