Gillick Legal is a growing litigation firm focused on business disputes, insurance claims, corporate defense, and a limited number of criminal defense and personal injury matters. Our firm values precision, responsiveness, and modern legal practice. You'll work directly with attorney Jacob Gillick, managing essential litigation support functions that keep cases moving smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- File pleadings and motions with California state and federal courts (including e-filing systems like OneLegal, TrueFiling, and SDCA CM/ECF)
- Manage litigation and court deadlines and calendaring
- Format, proofread, and finalize legal documents (motions, discovery, demand letters)
- Organize case files and client communications
- Maintain office organization and digital document workflows
Requirements:
- 2+ years of legal assistant experience, preferably in California civil litigation
- Strong working knowledge of California court filing procedures
- Familiarity with calendar management systems and legal deadlines
- Excellent document formatting and editing skills (Word, PDF, Outlook)
- Highly organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently
