Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilize technology resources for efficient attorney support.
Manage document creation, formatting, editing, and proofreading (Word, Excel, legal documents).
Prepare legal document shells, notebooks, and exhibits.
File legal documents with state and federal courts (e-filing required).
Prepare and edit construction contracts.
Perform administrative tasks: conflict checks, matter management, engagement letters, expense reports, time entry, travel arrangements, and business development support.
Organize and maintain client files (paper and electronic).
Maintain pleading indexes in the document management system.
Manage attorney calendars and emails (Outlook), including deadlines.
Manage client contact lists; support business development.
Coordinate meetings, conference calls, and depositions.
Maintain regular attendance; flexibility for overtime/weekends.
Education and Experience Required:
High school diploma/GED required; associate degree/certificate preferred.
Minimum 5 years' legal assistant experience, with 2 years in construction law.
Experience with federal and state court procedures and e-filing.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Excellent proofreading, document formatting, and redlining skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
