JOB DESCRIPTION:
Title: - Legal Assistant-Post Judgement
Location: - Houston, TX 77081
Rate: - $17.00 hr
Work Schedule: - Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
Prepare the following Legal Documents for the Suburban Team.
Describe this position's Essential Functions:
- Reports:
- Work monthly litigation report provided by area manager.
- Address Research:
- Using various integrated software and internet programs to locate defendants and necessary parties for citation issues, bad address returns, improper parties to suit and bad service returns.
- Interventions:
- Build interventions into oracle, prepare intervention, create folder in digital file room and place copy of intervention in the digital file, e-file intervention with district clerk's office, update oracle with date filed, place copy of intervention and cover letter in the mail out folder.
- Issue Citations:
- Contact constable/sheriff's office if there is no return available, prepare citations, email citations to the district clerk's office,
- Forward Out of County Citations for Fort Bend County:
- Mail out of county citations to the appropriate constable or sheriff's department, attach cover letter, enter costs for citations into oracle, and e-file return with district clerk's office.
- Secretary of State Citations:
- Request check from Chip Sutton and Mike Taylor, mail secretary of state citations to the secretary of state with cover letter including all citations/suit that are attached, place copy of letter in digital file, enter costs for citations into oracle, code service in oracle when citation is returned, and e-file return with district clerk's office.
- Perform all other duties assigned.
