Our client, located in Hackensack, NJ, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join their law office. The Legal Assistant will support members of the firm in areas of bankruptcy, corporate, environmental, litigation, real estate and tax, and trusts and estates law. This is a direct hire position.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and organize documents using document management systems to ensure easy retrieval and filing.
  • Conduct document review and assist in legal drafting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Proofread legal documents for clarity, grammar, and formatting before submission.
  • Transcribe legal correspondence and meeting notes as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while adhering to ethical guidelines.

Requirements:

  • 3 years+ experience as a Legal Assistant.
  • Proficiency in document management systems, MS Office Suite, and InTapp required
  • Knowledge of iManage preferred
  • Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and willingness to learn new skills related to the legal field.
