Stone, Glass & Connolly, LLP, an "AV" rated defense litigation law firm in the Palmetto Bay area, seeks a legal assistant with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the insurance defense field.
Ideal candidates for this position must be detail oriented and possess:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense field , trial experience strongly preferred;
Skilled use of litigation software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Tabs, TimeMatters, and Outlook);
Excellent grammar, spelling, writing, and communication skills;
Familiarity with the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, as well as Federal and Local Rules of the Middle and Southern Districts;
The ability to work well in a teamwork driven environment managing fluctuating priorities and deadlines; and
Strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Communication with clients, judicial assistants, other attorneys and their staff;
Preparation of legal documents, correspondence, trial exhibits, presentation materials for hearings and mediations;
Maintaining case files (electronic and paper records);
Providing litigation support to multiple attorneys;
Reviewing and analyzing medical, billing, employment, and insurance claim records; and
Scheduling meetings, hearings, depositions and mediations.
Salary is negotiable and is commensurate with experience.
