Now Hiring: Legal Assistant - Personal Injury Defense Downtown Chicago Hybrid $70K-$77K+

LHH is partnering with a prominent downtown Chicago law firm to find an experienced Legal Assistant with a strong background in Personal Injury Defense. This full-time, direct-hire position is perfect for a proactive legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment and is ready to support attorneys through all stages of case preparation and trial.

After a 90-day on-site training period, the role offers a hybrid work schedule, with in-office work required during trial prep and active trials.

Salary Range: $70,000-$77,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Location: Downtown Chicago, IL (Hybrid after 90 days)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage legal calendars, deadlines, and trial schedules
  • Order and organize medical records, chronologies, and timelines
  • Assist with non-party record requests and document management
  • Interpret medical terminology and billing
  • Support expert witness coordination and document preparation
  • Liaise with external vendors and service providers
  • Maintain attorney Outlook calendars and correspondence
  • Utilize Practice Law, Cilo and or NetDocuments for legal research and filings
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience supporting attorneys in Personal Injury Defense
  • High school diploma required; legal assistant or paralegal certificate preferred
