Job Purpose: To provide administrative and technical support to attorney and team at all stages of litigation, including investigation, filings, records requests, discovery, and deposition and trial prep.


Job Description:

Correspondence: Manages incoming calls, emails, and mail, including expenses and invoices.

Calendar: Records relevant dates; anticipates and calculates deadlines; schedules case events, including depositions; plans basic travel attorneys, clients, and witnesses.

Court Filings: Drafts routine motions and forms; gathers evidence and prepares exhibits; verifies citations and proofreads; finalizes and files documents.

Depositions and Trial: Drafts subpoenas; coordinates with all necessary personnel; prepares exhibits; oversees necessary equipment and technology; etc.

Discovery and File Management: Utilizes cloud-based and physical filing systems effectively; requests records; documents and maintains all evidence.

Research: Conducts research on the Internet, social media, virtual databases, local/state/federal rules of procedure, Connecticut Practice Book, etc.

Medical Records: Coordinates with the paralegal to request medical records on existing open files.

Teamwork: Follows up on delegated tasks and assignments; refers matters to attorney or paralegal as necessary; supports and collaborates with colleagues in the firm as needed.

Highly Encouraged Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

1-3 years of relevant law firm experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams); Adobe Acrobat; Zoom

Strong technical, organizational, research, and communication skills

Experience with and/or willingness to learn and use case management software (Filevine) and legal research tools (Westlaw, etc.)
