Growing criminal defense and personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced legal assistant who will be responsible for client communications, legal assistant duties, and general office support.

The ideal candidate will have law office experience and has familiarity with legal case management software such as Clio. Office tasks include:
- Interfacing with clients and their loved ones throughout the life of a case on the phone, in person, or via zoom; including answering calls, speaking to prospective clients, and gathering accurate and complete contact information
- Organizing and maintaining electronic files in a paperless environment
- Calendaring court appearances
- Scheduling appointments
- Gathering information from online court and law enforcement sources to manage our calendar
- Opening and scanning incoming mail
- Occasional runs to nearby offices and courts to file documents and retrieve discovery
- Preparation of standard form legal documents in MSWord pleading templates
- Preparation and assembly of court filings
Well-qualified candidates for the position will have experience and skills in the following areas:
- Answering and prioritizing incoming calls
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and able to work with PDF documents
- Experience with case management software, such as Clio
- Experience working on Apple computers
- Experience with online practice tools for electronic signature gathering, file management, billing
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
Pay will depend on qualifications and experience and will be between $23 to $35 per hour; health insurance available after 90 day introductory period; 13 paid court holidays each year
