Addison Group is partnering with a well-established legal firm to find a skilled Legal Administrative Assistant to support their Trusts, Estates, and Guardianships practice. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity for professionals seeking a dynamic and collaborative legal environment.
Job Description:
The Legal Administrative Assistant will provide direct administrative and case support to two attorneys-one specializing in estates and trusts, and the other in a separate legal practice. This individual will play a key role in document preparation, file management, client coordination, and general legal office administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and drafting of estate planning and guardianship documents
- Manage case calendars, deadlines, and attorney schedules
- Support attorneys in opening and closing estate and guardianship matters
- Coordinate account openings, track and inventory client assets
- Input and reconcile financial data in legal accounting software
- Prepare petitions, supporting documentation, and tax-related forms
- Perform general administrative tasks and ad hoc support as needed
- Maintain accurate client records and case files
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of legal administrative or paralegal experience required
- Recent experience in trusts and estates law is essential; some litigation background preferred (within the last 3-4 years)
- Must have supported at least two attorneys in a professional legal setting
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; exposure to legal software such as Litify and iManage is a plus
- High attention to detail, ability to multitask, and strong organizational skills
Additional Details:
- Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (flexibility for early or late hours as needed)
- Work Location: On-site in Rockville, MD, with one remote day per week possible after initial onboarding (either Monday or Friday as assigned)
- Training Requirement: Initial training to take place in Greenbelt, MD office
- Start Date: Targeting a mid-May start
- Background Check: Criminal, education, and credit checks required
- Overtime Eligibility: Not eligible
