Position Title: Network Engineer

Location: Reston, VA

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our team of experts. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining network systems that support our government clients' operations. You will work on a wide range of projects involving network architecture, security, and optimization, contributing to the success of government agencies' missions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Design and Implementation: Design, deploy, and maintain secure and scalable network solutions that meet the specific needs and security requirements of government clients.
  • Network Security: Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls, to safeguard sensitive government data.
  • Network Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor network performance, troubleshoot network issues, and perform proactive maintenance to ensure optimal network reliability.
  • Network Optimization: Identify opportunities for network optimization and make recommendations to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, cybersecurity experts, and project managers, to deliver comprehensive IT solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and change logs.
  • Compliance: Ensure network infrastructure compliance with government regulations, security policies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (relevant certifications and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • 3+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, preferably in a government contracting or federal agency environment.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, subnetting, and routing.
  • Experience with network security tools and practices, such as intrusion detection/prevention systems and security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
  • Knowledge of government compliance standards, including FISMA, NIST, and DISA STIGs.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Security+, or CISSP are a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and team members.
