Prestigious law firm in search of a seasoned legal administrative assistant to join their Patent Practice Group, located in their Portsmouth, NH office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiating new client matters
- Managing electronic patent prosecution files
- Compiling patent application filing documents, such as application data sheets, declarations, powers of attorney, assignments, and PCT requests
- Supervising the signature workflow for formal documents like declarations, assignments, and powers of attorney
- Documenting and submitting paperwork to the USPTO
- Crafting correspondence letters for incoming USPTO and international patent office documents, as well as communication with foreign agents
- Creating office action response templates and handling electronic filings of responses
- Preparing information disclosure statements and securing foreign art and non-patent literature
- Assessing incoming documents for prior art to cite in information disclosure statements
- Corresponding with foreign agents
- Managing attorney dockets and calendars to ensure deadlines are met and promptly informing clients of actions taken
- Maintaining current knowledge of USPTO procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree or 2-4 years of experience supporting litigation practice, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with U.S. and foreign patent filing and prosecution
- Proficiency in Word, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, PowerPoint, standard patent docketing systems, and standard document management databases
- Competence in Patent Center and ePCT
- Meticulous attention to detail
