Job Summary
Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a Unit of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for a faculty position at the non-tenure track Lecturer of Social Work, commensurate with education and experience, to begin in fall 2025.
At the non-tenure track Lecturer level, faculty teach a 5/5 course load, facilitate student advisement, and engage in service. This position will be housed on the Macon campus
This position involves teaching responsibilities in the Bachelor of Social Work curriculum and oversight of the BSW field education program as Field Education Program Director. In addition to teaching a 3/3 course load, the field education director position maintains oversight of the BSW field education program: including development of community field partnerships, student placement, student documentation, and student support and assessment. Teaching and administration responsibilities may include day and/or weekend hours. Experience with online and hybrid course delivery will be a plus.
Responsibilities
- Teach a 3/3 course load consisting of field education seminar and other courses as assigned.
- Administration of the field education program.
- Work closely with the BSW Program Director to ensure alignment of field education with the CSWE Educational and Policy Accreditation Standard.
- Development of community partnerships and field site placements.
- Training and support for agency field education supervisors.
- Student onboarding into the field education year, including orientation and agency placement.
- Oversight and support of field education faculty.
- Facilitation and oversight of field agency site visits and student supervision.
- Maintenance of field education documentation and student competency outcomes.
- Participation in program meetings and events.
Required Qualifications
Required Educational Qualifications
The successful candidate for this position must hold an MSW from a CSWE accredited program
Required Experience
At least two years of post-MSW social work practice experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience at the college level.
Other Preferred Qualifications
Georgia licensure as an LMSW or LCSW is preferred but not required.
