Position Summary:
Leave Administrator responsibilities include, but not limited to, coordinating the support for all leave of absence cases and workers' compensation leave cases. Effectively coordinates all cases to include general administration, comprehensive case management and program compliance with Federal Family and Medical Leave Act. In addition, responsibilities include acting as a liaison who processes federal and company leaves, provides timely notification, and leave communication between Team Members, Department Managers and Executives. The Leave Administrator must also provide consistent service to all Team Members, focusing on clear communication, relationship building, plan enhancements and cost-effective administration.
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and
promoting our values.
2. Understand and adhere to all Human Resources operating practices of Graton Resort & Casino.
3. Serve as the subject matter expert for the leave program in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership.
4. Administer all aspects of leave programs, provide extensive case management, and coordinate administrative aspects of the cases.
5. Counsel with Team Members and Supervisors concerning leave benefits, and provide Team Members with accurate information on deductions from pay relating to absences, medical certification requirements, return-to-work dates, etc.
6. Manage administrative aspects of workers' compensation leave cases to include tracking hours used and/or taken. Work closely with the Security Department to ensure Team Members leave is accurate and correct.
7. Work closely with Team Members to ensure that all relevant completed medical documentation is submitted for timely review. Maintain appropriate contact with all Team Members on leave and
coordinate all aspects of return to work.
8. Produce and manage reporting metrics and analytics for all leave/workers' compensation cases and present reports as requested.
9. Assist in ensuring compliance with all Company policies and practices, as well as federal laws and government regulations pertaining to employment and benefit practices.
10. Attend regular department meetings.
11. Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics, and self-image.
12. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality when dealing with any Team Member issue.
13. Assist with all Human Resources functions as needed.
Required Qualifications:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
2. Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
3. Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in leave administration, including proficiency with FMLA.
4. Strong time management, problem solving and priority setting skills.
5. Computer proficient in word processing and spreadsheet analysis.
6. Ability to easily adapt to changing priorities while performing job duties in stressful situations or handling complex communication.
7. Service-oriented demeanor and ability to relate well with a wide variety of people.
8. Timely follow-through and attention to detail on all projects with excellent organizational and
multitasking skills.
9. Must be able to professionally handle sensitive information and maintain complete confidentiality.
10. Fully bilingual in Spanish required.
Preferred Skills:
1. Ability to communicate and make recommendations to Benefits Manager.
2. Ability to identify problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
3. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, demanding environment with changing priorities.
4. Experience with ADP
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to sit, walk, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
2. Ability to communicate on the telephone and in person with internal and external Guests.
3. Ability to read and write in English.
4. Coordination and mobility to access all properties and areas.
5. Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
