Job Requirements - ERP Solutions Architect (Technology)
Be a strategic thought leader driving innovation and excellence across the Workday ERP application suite. As the ERP Solutions Architect - Technology, you will play a critical role in aligning digital strategy with enterprise goals by designing and implementing scalable, forward-thinking ERP solutions. You will optimize the value of our technology investments, unlocking new capabilities for our employees, business partners, and stakeholders.
In this role, you will lead architectural design and technical solutioning for key Workday domains, with a strong focus on Workday Extend, Integrations, emerging Workday AI/ML capabilities, and scalable application development. You will be responsible for guiding the end-to-end solution lifecycle-from architecture and development to deployment and optimization-ensuring that solutions meet business objectives, drive operational efficiency, and support future innovation.
You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and workstream leads to influence architecture decisions and shape the strategic direction of our ERP ecosystem. Your expertise will help ensure that every solution is secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards and best practices.
Job Responsibilities - ERP Solutions Architect (Technology)
Lead Technical Architecture and Solution Delivery. Drive the end-to-end architecture, design, build, and implementation of scalable and secure Workday technology solutions across HCM, Financials, Research & Grants, and Supply Chain modules
Own Workday Technology Solution Design. Serve as the primary architect and technical owner for Workday solutions within the ERP architecture team. Design and deliver extensible and performant solutions using Workday Extend, Workday Integration Cloud, and custom development tools.
Architect and Manage Workday Integrations. Design and oversee the development of robust integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and REST/SOAP APIs, ensuring reliability, performance, and data integrity across internal and third-party systems.
Incorporate Workday AI and Machine Learning Capabilities. Evaluate and leverage Workday's AI and ML insights to deliver intelligent, data-driven solutions that support predictive decision-making and improve operational outcomes.
Implement Development Standards and Governance. Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture blueprints, and design specifications in compliance with enterprise architecture frameworks, ERP standards, and security policies.
Optimize Technology Performance and Scalability. Identify opportunities to streamline ERP application performance through system tuning, refactoring, and modernization of legacy custom solutions using Workday Extend and emerging technologies.
Support ERP Testing, Validation & Change Management. Collaborate with QA and operations teams to ensure technology solutions meet business and compliance requirements. Ensure smooth delivery through established IT change control and release management processes.
Research and Recommend Emerging Technologies. Stay ahead of trends in ERP platforms, cloud architecture, and integration strategies. Evaluate new Workday technologies and third-party tools to recommend strategic enhancements.
Drive Strategic Alignment and Technology Planning. Provide domain-specific leadership in support of long-term ERP strategy, influencing technology roadmaps, architectural decisions, and digital transformation initiatives in collaboration with IT and business leadership.
Required Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Deep understanding of Workday's architecture, including Workday Extend for custom applications.
Experience designing and developing Workday Integrations using tools such as Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST).
Familiarity with Workday AI/ML capabilities, including how to leverage machine learning insights for business value.
Proficient in data modeling, API architecture, and database management (SQL, XML, XSLT).
Experience with middleware and integration platforms is a plus.
Skilled in application development methodologies and software engineering best practices.
Leadership & Solutioning:
Demonstrated ability to lead solution design efforts from concept to deployment, working with cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong track record in architecting scalable, secure, and sustainable ERP solutions aligned with digital transformation goals.
Proven ability to influence architectural decisions, drive alignment between technology and business objectives, and lead innovation initiatives
Communication & Collaboration:
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to present complex technical ideas clearly to business stakeholders, executive leadership, and technical teams.
Experience collaborating in Agile/Scrum environments and driving iterative solution development.
Experience :
Minimum of 10 years of experience in ERP architecture, with a strong background in designing and implementing enterprise-grade solutions.
At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Workday, with a focus on Workday Extend, Workday Studio, and Workday Integration Cloud.
Proven experience in delivering solutions across Workday HCM, Financials, Research & Grants, and/or Supply Chain modules.
Education :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline required.
Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
