Description

Leidos is actively seeking a Lead Windows Systems Engineer to enhance our Security Engineering and Operations (SE&O) team under the NOAA Cyber Security Center contract. This pivotal role encompasses the development and management of infrastructure and security tools that safeguard our environment and support multiple Trusted Internet Connection Access Provider (TICAP) sites.

Selected candidates must be willing to work onsite in Fairmont, WV, or Boulder, CO.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead and provide hands-on engineering and administration support for:
    • Hardware (Dell laptops & Servers)
    • Virtualization (vSphere ESXi, vCenter, vRealize Operations Manager)
    • Windows Administration (Windows Server, Windows 10, Active Directory, MECM, SQL Servers)
  • Act as the system owner for Windows infrastructure, delivering services to various stakeholders within the Security Operations Center (SOC).
  • Design and validate integrated system solutions that protect proprietary and confidential data. Collaborate with clients to transform security requirements into effective technical designs.
  • Support the complete project lifecycle for infrastructure and technology initiatives, assisting in inventory, procurement, and budgetary development.
  • Participate in team leadership sessions, collaborating with the program leadership team, including reporting activities, employee recognition, and program planning for meetings.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 to 12 years of related experience, including at least 6 years of expertise in Windows system design, development, integration, and operation. Additional relevant experience or certifications can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting complex systems administration challenges in enterprise settings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow direction effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficient in applying NIST SP 800-53 control families to enhance system security, alongside documenting compliance.
  • Experience with cybersecurity design, engineering, and operations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing Active Directory and Group Policies.
  • Familiarity with implementing STIGs in Windows environments.
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies in IT infrastructure and implement solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Formal leadership training.
  • Experience leading an IT Infrastructure team.
  • Expertise with McAfee ePO (ENS, Drive Encryption).
  • Knowledge of Storage solutions (Brocade, NetApp, PureStorage).
  • Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Security+, Network+, Splunk, FireEye).
  • Experience in migrating IT infrastructure to cloud-based systems or managing hybrid environments.
  • Microsoft Certifications such as AZ-800, AZ-801, or equivalent are highly desired.
Clearance / Citizenship

U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.

Pay Range: $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
