Netley Court is a purpose-built 65-bedded residential care home set in the heart of the village of Netley Abbey, caring for dementia and residential residents.
Our Lead Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coordinator is both a management and a hands-on role. Working alongside our wellbeing and lifestyle coordinators, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating a successful activities and volunteer programme within the Cinnamon Home. This includes internal and external communication about activities-focused programmes for our residents, as well as networking within the local community to recruit, train, and place volunteers within the home. You will introduce appropriate activities for our residents to support independence and identify activities in the surrounding areas to help residents integrate into the local community. Flexibility in working hours is required, including working on a rota basis covering some weekends.
Ideally, you will hold a full clean driving license, as at times you may be required to drive the minibus for external excursions.
Main Responsibilities
- Organise and conduct activities that encourage social, mental, and physical stimulation for residents, aligned with the Seven Branches of the Cinnamon Activities Programme.
- Network and develop links in the local community to establish relationships with local businesses, organizations, and schools. Build and maintain a volunteer base involving family, team members, and community volunteers as part of the activities programme.
- Manage the activities team, including supervising and appraising staff, addressing people issues appropriately, and ensuring a robust rota is in place.
- Organise special events such as Christmas entertainment, Ascot, Royal Occasions, etc.
- Produce a monthly programme of events in consultation with the General Manager using the Cinnamon Activities Calendar Template.
- Regularly update the Cinnamon website, Facebook, and other platforms to promote activities to the local community and prospective residents and their families.
- Manage the activities budget within the home's financial parameters.
- Assess residents' specific social needs upon move-in and develop personalized activities programmes to meet their individual needs, fostering social engagement and well-being.
Person Specification
- Current experience in managing a team.
- Level 3 (QCF) Supporting Activities Provision qualification.
- NAPA Qualifications & Training Areas (desirable).
- Knowledge of organizing activities to enhance residents' lives.
- IT literacy - competent with the use of systems.
