Carlson Hydraulics is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Hydraulic Cylinder Welder to lead welding operations in support of high-quality hydraulic cylinder manufacturing. This role offers the opportunity to guide production, mentor welders, and implement process improvements in a team-first, safety-driven environment.

What the Role Entails:
Welding and Fabrication Leadership
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding layouts
Weld hydraulic cylinder components (rods, barrels, ports, bases) using Miller MIG equipment
Perform manual welding on a lathe for high-precision component repair and fabrication
Apply robotic and pulse welding techniques to increase quality and efficiency
Perform welding in various positions (flat, round, rolling) based on production needs
Team Development and Process Improvement
Lead and mentor a team of welders in a collaborative and safety-conscious environment
Train team members on robotic, manual, and pulse welding methods
Promote continuous improvement and implement enhancements to welding workflows
Monitor welding equipment and ensure proper usage, temperature control, and maintenance
Inspect welds to ensure quality, resolve material issues, and uphold company standards
Safety and Compliance
Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements
Promote a culture of accountability and operational discipline on the shop floor
What You Will Bring:
5+ years of welding experience, with advanced skills in MIG, robotic, and lathe welding
Specialized knowledge of hydraulic cylinders or leak-proof welding
Valid welding certificate from an accredited institution
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong leadership background with a history of mentoring welders and managing workflows
Advanced proficiency in pulse and robotic welding systems (including programming and setup)
Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings with precision
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Salary range: $38-47 an hour (overtime available) depending on experience with biweekly payroll
