The pay range is $128,000.00 - $231,000.00

About the role:
As a Lead UX Researcher within our Enterprise UX Research Team, you'll drive high-impact research that enhances Target's digital experience for both our team members and guests while supporting business growth. You will lead strategic UX research and insights for Target's Store team members, focusing on Store Process Optimization-ensuring team members can work more efficiently and effectively. You will translate research data into powerful stories that help shape Target's products. This role is a key partner to several functions including product managers, UX designers, engineers, business partners, data scientists, content designers, and accessibility consultants.
You'll conduct research to uncover technology, UX, process, and AI-driven enhancements that streamline team members' technology and workflows, enabling them to work more efficiently and enjoyably. You will leverage human-centered design methodologies to understand team member needs, balance business goals, and deliver best-in-class UX solutions-all while fostering a culture of experimentation and innovation.
Responsibilities: - Serve as a leader within product teams throughout the research project life cycle - recommending appropriate methodology, scoping, and coordinating the entire process, facilitating in-field research and post-research synthesis through analysis.
- Act as a strategic thought partner and provide expert guidance in leading, conducting, and synthesizing qualitative research projects - including, but not limited to: in person moderated testing, remote moderated & unmoderated testing, surveys, heuristic reviews, benchmark studies, concept testing.,
- Lead and follow through on synthesis and analysis of research findings - activating the insights gleaned through observations and interviews and identifying key opportunity and whitespace areas in the context of corporate strategic direction.
- Use your influence to identify and pursue user-centric outcomes within and across products
- Effectively facilitatecross functional working teams and collaborate across multiple design and product teams
About you:
- Minimum of 7years' experiencepracticing UX design research for digital product teams
- Experience in Lean UX Research methods, including remote moderated & unmoderated testing, online & in-context (store) intercepts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to cross functional partners
- A strong ability to tell compelling stories from data
- Experience using AI in UX research, understanding both its capabilities and limitations in qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
- Comfortable within ambiguity with the ability to prioritize; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects (both small and large) and adjust to changing priorities
- Strong project management skills - experience managing multiple projects at various stages in the project life cycle
- Ability to balance the need for near-term solutions and long-term vision
- Comfortable speaking to a diverse group of people and leading conversations to discover research insights
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience running, recruiting, moderating and analysis of online panels and thinking strategically about their application
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
