Job Summary: Lead Sonographer - Diagnostic
Location: Burlington, VT
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Lead Sonographer to join our diagnostic imaging team in Burlington, VT. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality ultrasound services while supervising and mentoring staff sonographers to ensure optimal patient care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, and vascular studies.
- Lead and support a team of sonographers, ensuring compliance with departmental protocols and quality standards.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices, new technologies, and techniques in sonography.
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare professionals to discuss findings and contribute to patient management.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports of ultrasound procedures and findings.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained and calibrated according to safety and quality control standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate s or Bachelor s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
- Current certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in diagnostic ultrasound, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional specialty certifications in areas such as vascular or obstetric sonography.
- Experience in a fast-paced clinical environment.
