Leidos seeks a Lead Systems Developer to be part of a vibrant team responsible for managing and maintaining multiple mission-critical hosting environments with over 1,000 virtual machines spread across various data centers. In this essential role, you will oversee the entire application lifecycle from development to deployment. Your expertise in Perl and Python will be utilized to enhance applications in a Linux environment, alongside performance analysis and end-to-end testing. This position involves the maintenance of hardware and software systems, as well as monitoring the virtual infrastructure to ensure its availability, reliability, and performance. You will coordinate the infrastructure requirements driven by developed applications, fulfilling customer mission needs. Key responsibilities include collaborating with customers to define and document requirements, addressing support tickets, testing recovery operations, managing virtual machine lifecycles, and other relevant tasks. We are looking for a dynamic and innovative self-starter who thrives in problem-solving environments and employs independent judgment to provide effective solutions.
Required Skills:
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph
- Strong working knowledge of networking and storage practices.
- Ability to develop and adapt automation scripts (Bash, Perl, Python) for routine and complex tasks.
- 6+ years of experience in developing web-based applications using Perl and Python in a Linux Apache MariaDB PHP/Python/Perl (LAMP) environment.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in vSphere Systems Administration.
- Extensive experience in both Windows and Linux Systems administration.
- Experience supporting a medium-sized user environment of approximately 500 users.
- Self-direction in project tasks and capability to troubleshoot technical issues with minimal guidance.
- Innovative mindset to introduce new approaches for enhancing efficiency and productivity.
- Proficient in developing coding, testing, and A&A documentation.
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 12+ years of experience; equivalent experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
- Familiarity with various Linux distributions such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, and Debian.
- Proficient in utilizing the Atlassian suite, including JIRA and Confluence, for tracking activities and managing knowledge documentation.
- Experience with user and server certificates.
- Experience maintaining security plans for systems.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams toward success.
