Job Title: Lead SQL Developer
Job Location: Fully Remote
Job Duration: 12 months of Contract on W2

Role:


• The Lead SQL Developer is responsible for leading a team of SQL Developers in understanding and implementing detailed business and technical requirements needed for data and reporting within the Finance organization

• This role is within the Finance department and reports to the Senior Manager of Financial Business Intelligence

• Key responsibilities include leading a team of SQL Developers, writing SQL queries to extract data from Big Query to leverage for Power BI dashboards, building and maintaining reports in Power BI, ensuring the quality and completeness of SQL queries, and supporting financial systems and Finance via data and report development

• Core competencies include a solid knowledge of SQL development and debugging, IT database structures, Power BI, and QA testing, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills

Impact:

• The Lead SQL Developer is responsible for leading a team of SQL Developers in understanding and implementing detailed business and technical requirements needed for data and reporting within the Finance organization understanding business needs and problems, and partnering with stakeholders to provide reporting that can drive more informed decision-making

• Core responsibilities include leveraging SQL and Big Query to source and structure data for reporting, compiling user requirements, building reports in Power BI, providing guidance to team members, validating data, and maintaining documentation

• Writing complex SQL queries based on business and reporting needs

• Troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues

• Working with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and prioritize enhancement and development requests

• Analyzing data from multiple sources and working through nuances while maintaining data integrity

• Creating and maintaining documentation for queries, data, and requirements

• Optimize queries and document schema

• Working with IT to support and test data and report migrations

• The Lead SQL Developer is responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, tied to reported results and that any issues are escalated to appropriate stakeholders

• Additional responsibilities in support of financial systems are required for various projects such as data warehouse migrations, QA testing, and data integrity assurance initiatives

You will thrive in this role if you:

• 5+ years of progressive experience in SQL, including designing, developing, and troubleshooting complex queries

• 2+ years of experience in supervising or mentoring other SQL developers

• Familiar using BigQuery to retrieve data

• Experience with major data migrations involving both business and IT stakeholders

• Solid understanding of database design principles and experience with data modeling, in addition to query planning & optimization

• Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to prioritize and achieve results

• Attention to detail that translates into strong analytical results and problem-solving

• Ability to take initiative and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

A plus if you have:

• Experience with SAP or Alteryx

• Experience working on product profitability models

• Experience with securitization
