Join us as a Lead Solution Architect to support the design and implementation of secure services, systems, and processes. Ensure these meet security requirements, are user-friendly, and efficient.

Skills and Experience:

  1. Proven experience designing, securing, and scaling RESTful APIs within banking or financial services (preferably OpenAPI/Swagger).
  2. Deep understanding of API gateways, authentication methods (OAuth 2.0, mTLS), rate limiting, and monitoring.
  3. Experience in designing robust, scalable solutions connecting internal systems with external partners, including defining blueprints, selecting technologies, and aligning with enterprise standards.
  4. Knowledge of financial regulations (e.g., PSD2, ISO 20022, GDPR) and embedding compliance and security in API development.

Additional valued skills include:

  1. Understanding banking domains like payments, onboarding, transaction processing, or treasury systems.
  2. Ability to navigate legacy and cloud-based architectures in regulated environments.
  3. Translating complex architecture decisions into business language, managing governance, and stakeholder alignment.
  4. Familiarity with Kafka, MQ, or similar platforms for asynchronous processing and real-time events.

This role is based in Northampton.

Purpose:

Design, develop, and implement solutions to complex business problems, collaborating with stakeholders to meet their needs while balancing technology risks and business delivery.

Accountabilities:

  • Design and develop solutions as adaptable products, identifying and implementing suitable technologies.
  • Apply workload strategies to leverage cloud capabilities like elasticity, serverless, and containers.
  • Incorporate security principles to meet resiliency standards.
  • Create solutions balancing risks and controls to deliver value.
  • Use standard solutions where appropriate, contributing to their evolution when necessary.
  • Support operational teams with fault finding and performance issues.
  • Assess impact of solutions on risk, capacity, and costs, including ongoing operational costs.
  • Prepare architecture documentation for governance compliance, including security and privacy records.
