As a Lead Software Engineer within the Next Generation Avionics (NGA) group at Honeywell, you will have a significant role in the design, architecture and deployment of cutting-edge Display Systems that enhance the situational awareness and decision-making capabilities of pilots, by delivering innovative features, implementing functionalities, enhancing the user experience and the overall advancement of technology.
You will work closely with cross-functional technical teams to ensure the successful development and delivery of high-quality Anthem Display Platform software solutions. Your technical expertise and innovative mindset will be crucial in ensuring the successful design, development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions, ensuring we continue pushing the boundaries of avionics technology
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the design, development, and implementation of advanced Display Platform software solutions that meet project and customer requirements
- Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions for avionics display systems, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Drive software design process, applying best practices in software engineering and agile methodologies
- Work with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
- Identify opportunities for innovation and propose solutions to drive product advantages and operational efficiencies, contributing to the ongoing evolution of our avionics systems.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies; explore and integrate innovative solutions into existing and new products to maintain competitive advantage.
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Embedded software design and development.
- Proven experience with Real Time operating systems (RTOS) and Embedded software development.
WE VALUE
- Understanding various software development lifecycle
- Experience operating in an Agile framework
- Proficiency in C/C+, Python and/or Open GL
- Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
- Ability to lead technical projects, coordinate cross-functional tasks, and drive collaborative efforts across technical teams
- Expertise in Displays and Graphics software is of value
- Experience with Avionics standards, including A661/A664 standard for aircraft cockpit displays and DO-178C is desired
- Can quickly analyze, incorporate/prototype, and apply new information and concepts
- Strong accountability with bias for action
- Assertive drive to sound technical and robust solutions
- Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practice
- Wide degree of creativity and latitude
- Ability to find the correct balance between demand and capacity when establishing priorities for the organization
