Within DE&E Product & Technology, the Ad Platforms team is responsible for creating and scaling innovative global advertising solutions by building mission-critical tools and workflows to support addressable & linear ad sales, traffic, marketing, and ad serving. Job Summary

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will spearhead the development of the OMS system, guiding its technical direction and ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions. You'll translate business requirements into efficient features while championing engineering best practices and agile principles.

Responsibilities
  • Lead hands-on UI engineering and collaborate within and across teams to design, architect, and optimize cloud-native and service-oriented UI components and applications.
  • Foster collaboration to establish API contracts, maintain design system standards, and influence best practices.
  • Champion quality engineering practices (linting, unit testing, web UI testing, pipeline automation) to enable continuous deployment.
  • Mentor team members through peer reviews, technical guidance, and creating reference implementations, while defining engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring seamless user experiences and system stability.
  • Drive project success by collaborating with product managers to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Apply creative problem-solving and logical reasoning to develop high-performing, scalable web applications.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in web application development.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental software design patterns and modern frameworks.
  • Expertise with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js/Remix.run, Redux, TailwindCSS/SCSS, and Web APIs, including reactive programming and REST patterns.
  • Proficiency in designing performant RESTful services using SQL/NoSQL databases, Kafka, Kinesis, and Redis.
  • Deep knowledge of DevOps tools (AWS, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes) and observability practices.
  • Proven experience in Agile and Lean development environments with a commitment to quality engineering.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail, ensuring pixel-perfect implementation and cross-browser compatibility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Previous work experience in digital advertising
  • Passion for Disney's storytelling legacy and curiosity for innovation.
  • Experience building Order Management Systems supporting Quote-to-Cash, and past experience working on Design Systems
Additional Information

The hiring range for this position in Seattle, Washington and New York, NY is $159,500 to $213,900 per year. Santa Monica, CA is $152,200 to $204,100 per year, San Francisco, CA is $166,800 to $223,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
