Description The Mission Solutions Business Area at Leidos is looking for an accomplished and forward-thinking Lead Software Architect to join our innovative team. We seek a candidate with a profound understanding of security best practices in Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) environments, adept at navigating the Authority to Operate (ATO) process and ensuring compliance with pertinent regulations. Primary Responsibilities - Technical Leadership:
- Define and steer the technical architecture and design of complex software systems.
- Ensure scalability, maintainability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with business and security requirements.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to development teams.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their relevance to the organization.
- Security Architecture:
- Design and implement secure software architectures that meet stringent IC/DoD security requirements.
- Collaborate with security personnel to address concerns and streamline the ATO process.
- Ensure adherence to relevant security standards and regulations, including the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Engage with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and timelines.
- Decompose complex projects into manageable tasks with clear responsibilities for development teams.
- Track project progress, identify risks, and take proactive measures to ensure successful delivery.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, from customers to executives.
- Present intricate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners.
Required Qualifications - Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI and CI poly.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in software architecture and design, particularly in enterprise-level systems.
- Proven understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and ATO processes for IC/DoD customers.
- Demonstrated experience in meeting security requirements for IC/DoD contexts.
- Direct experience in collaborating with customers to define requirements and create actionable roadmaps.
- Ability to break down requirements into development features.
- Skilled at briefing stakeholders on project updates and adapting plans in response to customer needs.
- Strong grasp of software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Comprehensive understanding of the software stack, covering front-end frameworks, UI/UX design, middle-tier integration, databases, efficient back-end processing, and embedded software.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience collaborating with DTRA, DIA, or other IC agencies' Chief Information Officer (CIO) departments.
- Participation in DTRA or DIA interim authority to test (IATT) or authority to operate (ATO) processes.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and their security implications.
- Knowledge of microservices architectures and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with integrated software systems, including APIs and ETL practices.
- Proficiency in DevOps practices and tools.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AI/ML certifications).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001).
- Awareness of Generative AI models and systems and CAD tools.

Pay Range: Pay Range $148,850.00 - $269,075.00
