We invite you to join our exceptional team dedicated to developing and enhancing the enterprise open systems platform for the Social Security Administration (SSA), positively impacting the lives of over 65 million Americans every month. As a Lead ServiceNow Developer, you will leverage your expertise to guide the client and fellow developers, mentor junior team members, and create solutions across the ServiceNow portfolio, including IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and IT Asset Management.

Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.

In this role, you will:
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions for new features and tools integrations with ServiceNow based on key system requirements.
  • Analyze business and technical requirements to develop reference designs and strategic roadmaps to meet complex business goals while adhering to architectural standards.
  • Lead the assessment of designs, architectures, and playbooks to ensure they meet organizational needs.
  • Maintain and develop the ServiceNow platform in line with strategic objectives.
  • Oversee platform management, data integrity, configuration, and custom development efforts.
  • Enhance platform health through assessing and remedying configurations that deviate from best practices.
  • Collaborate with clients and teams to devise new ServiceNow capabilities and ensure smooth adoption and ongoing support post-deployment.
  • Review requests for alignment with existing products and identify complex features requiring careful evaluation.
  • Follow established code quality control processes during development.
  • Engage collaboratively with clients to understand their business needs, vision, and objectives to design effective ServiceNow solutions.
Your technical expertise might include:
  • Front-end languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages and web development frameworks.
  • Proficiency in modern UI frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • Experience in full stack development and automation solutions.
  • DevOps implementation skills.
  • Understanding of integrations and REST API automation.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (e.g., SAFE, Scrum).
  • Automated testing experience using tools such as ServiceNow ATF.
  • Business analysis and design capabilities.
  • Server and infrastructure administration knowledge.

  • Participate in all technical discussions with customers, contributing insights to improve code quality and processes.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS(Basic Qualifications)

BS Degree and 12 years of experience, or equivalent experience without a degree.
  • Proven experience with multiple ServiceNow product implementations.
  • Extensive experience in ServiceNow scripting.
  • Strong background in ServiceNow platform support and administration.
  • Deep familiarity with various ServiceNow features and functionalities.
  • Thought leadership in designing and implementing ServiceNow solutions.
  • Experience operating within Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFE, Scrum).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE(Required Skills)

Skills vital for your success:
  • A minimum of 7 years developing ServiceNow solutions utilizing core modules (Service Catalog, Incident, Problem, Change Request, Asset Management, CMDB, Discovery).
  • At least 5 years creating, testing, and supporting custom ServiceNow application functionality.
  • Hold 3 or more ServiceNow certifications, including ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
  • Experience with 3rd party API integrations (REST/SOAP/JSON).
  • Capability to work in an agile environment (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Demonstrate modern development knowledge through:
  • Familiarity with products like ins.pi and their applications.
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) or Pro Suite certifications.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
