Mission Lando is on a mission to bring great enrichment classes to every student in the US. Our technology already powers classes in 100+ schools across the Bay Area, Sacramento, and LA-backed by Maveron, Reach Capital, and Learn Capital.
About this role You will be the point guard for keeping every class up and running. From QA of new hardware and software releases to rapid on-site diagnostics, you'll own the reliability loop: test ship monitor fix learn. You'll partner daily with teachers, engineers, and content designers, and you'll jump in wherever reliability depends on you-building rigs, updating hardware, refining teacher training, or reorganizing inventory.
What you'll do- Stress-test hardware & software before rollout; design repeatable test plans so it works everywhere, every time.
- Drive to campuses where tech is struggling; diagnose Wi-Fi, power, A/V, or content issues on the ground and feed findings back into engineering.
- Listen to teachers, translate pain points into actionable bug reports, hardware tweaks, or training modules.
- Build & track inventory for 1,000+ devices across 100+ sites; own the labeling, RMA, and spare-pool process.
- Pilot new hardware/content alongside engineers and curriculum designers, giving a thumbs-up only when classroom-ready.
- Document everything-test matrices, playbooks, and quick-start guides-so fixes scale with us.
Must-haves- 4+ years in QA, field support, or reliability engineering for hardware-plus-software products.
- Solid grasp of test-plan design, defect triage, and basic scripting/automation (Python, Bash, or similar).
- Comfortable tearing down devices, swapping parts, and debugging networks in K-12 environments.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to campuses across the Bay Area.
- Clear, empathic communication-especially with non-technical teachers under time pressure.
Nice-to-haves- Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) and inventory tooling.
- Background in teacher training, ed-ops, or content QA.
