Duties Serves as a Lead Police Officer to maintain law and order, preserve the peace; protect life and civil rights on a military installation. Conducts and/or participates in civilian training regarding various law enforcement topics conducted on an Army installation. Conducts and/or participates in unscheduled exercises based on past activities encountered on the installation to ensure future proper response. Responds to Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) alarms. Reviews police reports, patrol reports and ongoing investigations for accuracy and compliance. Provides on the job and field training to new employees. Requirements Conditions of Employment One year trial/probationary period may be required. Required working overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis around a 24-hour day, 7 days a week. Complete and pass required computer training from the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). Required to meet the Lautenberg Amendment requirements and sign the Department of Defense's (DD) Form 2760 (Qualification to Possess Firearms or Ammunition). Required to pass semiannual weapons qualification(s). Complete and pass initial/annual Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certification/re-certification. Must have graduated from the required U.S. Army Civilian Police Academy (USACPA) at the Law Enforcement Training Center, Ft Leonard Wood, MO, or be willing to attend within a year of hire, (cont in next requirement) (cont from the prior requirement) or have an approved waiver/exemption or grandfathered by the Office of the Provost Marshall General. This position requires pre-employment drug testing and random testing thereafter. This is a Mission Essential designated position and subject to immediate recall.
