Our challenge


We are looking for a highly skilled and driven Lead Oracle Developer with over 10 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in software development, particularly within the banking, investment banking, or credit card industry sectors. The role requires a deep understanding of credit card/payment industries or similar and the ability to lead and mentor a development team, while ensuring high-quality, scalable, and efficient code. Strong expertise in Java development, coupled with a strong background in financial services, is essential for success in this position.


Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Irvine, TX with salary 105,000-110,000/ year & benefits.


The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Oracle database systems and applications.
  • Create and optimize complex SQL queries, PL/SQL procedures, and scripts to support application performance and business processes.
  • Architect and implement database solutions that are scalable, reliable, and high-performing.
  • Ensure database systems adhere to best practices for security, performance, and reliability.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior and mid-level developers, helping them grow their skills.
  • Collaborate with application developers, data architects, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of databases with enterprise systems.
  • Perform database tuning, troubleshooting, and issue resolution to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
  • Review and ensure proper documentation for all database processes, solutions, and configurations.
  • Develop and maintain database automation and monitoring tools to streamline database administration tasks.
  • Manage database migrations, version upgrades, and data migrations across environments.
  • Assist in defining and enforcing database development standards, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Ensure database backups, disaster recovery plans, and high availability solutions are in place and working effectively.

Requirements:

You are:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as an Oracle Developer with a strong focus on PL/SQL, SQL, and database design.
  • Expertise in database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle database administration tasks (backup, recovery, security, etc.).
  • Experience in developing stored procedures, triggers, and complex queries.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle database features and tools (e.g., Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and data integration techniques.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments and version control systems like Git.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
