The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a Lead Operations and Maintenance Network Engineer to support various wide area networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs). This vital role will focus on providing robust routing and boundary protection to an enterprise-level infrastructure across multiple classifications, acting as a subject matter expert in routing and boundary technologies from various vendors.

As a Tier III Operations and Maintenance Network Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Overseeing Tier III operations and maintenance of Juniper and Cisco Routers, including advanced troubleshooting at layer 2 and layer 3 levels and implementing necessary routing changes.
  • Identifying and resolving network issues related to connectivity, latency, and asymmetric routing effectively.
  • Implementing and troubleshooting issues associated with routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VRF's, and VPN's.
  • Facilitating technical exchange meetings to collaboratively address issues with other ISPs and application owners.
  • Leading problem management efforts to perform root cause analysis of recurring network issues.
  • Providing daily Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support for incident management events and outages.
  • Collaborating with IT personnel on various projects and initiatives for network improvements.
  • Coordinating with relevant technical support teams to resolve network traffic concerns promptly.
  • Utilizing monitoring tools and log collectors for in-depth analysis of traffic anomalies and related issues.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
  • Experience with Palo Alto, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), and Forcepoint Firewall equipment is a plus, though not required.
Basic Requirements:
  • Required Clearance: TS/SCI with active Polygraph.
  • Candidate must possess 16 years of experience, which can be a combination of work history and education: Doctorate + 8 years, Master's + 10 years, Bachelor's + 12 years, Associate + 14 years, or HS diploma + 16 years.
  • Must comply with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
  • Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of Juniper and Cisco Routers and switches.
  • Proficiency in protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VPN's, VRF's, and MPLS.
  • Understanding of routing, switching, Internet Protocol (IP) subnetting, Network Address Translation (NAT), and associated security technologies.
  • Proven ability to engineer and adjust rulesets to meet new customer connectivity requirements.
  • Capability to read, understand, and create schematic diagrams, technical manuals, and documentation to ensure equipment and software are maintained effectively with minimal training.
  • Familiarity with Service Now or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional Certification.

Pay Range: $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
