The Multi-domain Solutions Division (MDS) within the NSS is seeking an experienced Lead Network Systems Administrator to contribute to an essential cybersecurity program, focused on supporting government-critical systems. This role involves overseeing the development and operation of IT-managed security services, vital for monitoring cybersecurity threats and maintaining situational awareness for the enterprise. This position is in anticipation of a future contract award.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive the design, implementation, security, and upkeep of our enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Leverage expertise in network architecture, security, automation, and cloud environments to guarantee high availability and performance.
  • Manage network operations, resolve complex issues, enhance performance, and guide IT teams in best practices.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, and cloud networking, complemented by strong leadership capabilities.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain advanced enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and wireless networks.
  • Oversee and optimize network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN solutions.
  • Manage cloud networking across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, including hybrid integrations.
  • Establish and enforce network segmentation, access control, and zero-trust security frameworks.
  • Implement network security best practices and solutions such as firewall policies, IDS/IPS, and NAC.
  • Conduct regular network vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for risk mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with various industry standards (NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2).
  • Collaborate closely with cybersecurity teams to identify and respond to network threats.
  • Monitor network traffic, performance metrics, and bandwidth usage to pinpoint and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Automate network configurations and management tasks using tools like Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
  • Enhance VoIP, QoS, and video conferencing solutions for top-notch communication.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior network administrators and IT staff.
  • Develop comprehensive network policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure business continuity and scalability.
  • Stay informed on emerging networking technologies and advocate for innovative solutions.
  • Lead response efforts for significant network outages, security incidents, or performance challenges.
  • Troubleshoot complex Layer 2/3 network issues, coordinating resolutions with vendors as required.
  • Maintain resilient disaster recovery and failover strategies for network continuity.
Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) with Polygraph security clearance required. U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 to 12 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6 to 10 years of experience. Doctorate may substitute for experience. Relevant experience may also be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Skills:
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP) or Expert (JNCIE).
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) with a focus on Networking.

Pay Range: $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
