Description The Multi Domain Solutions Division at Leidos is seeking a
Lead Network Engineer to play a critical role in a dynamic program supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. This position involves deploying and managing a sophisticated network across various customer sites and the cloud. As a key contributor, you will design, procure, and implement network systems that comply with Department of Defense (DoD) specifications.
In this role, you will:
- Develop comprehensive network architectures that adhere to DoD standards.
- Collaborate closely with procurement teams to identify and source necessary hardware and software.
- Oversee the installation and configuration of essential network equipment, such as TACLANES, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Conduct rigorous testing to ensure all network systems function correctly and comply with security standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during installation and testing.
- Maintain thorough documentation of network configurations, installations, and updates.
- Produce and refine network diagrams and related technical documents.
- Work alongside engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to drive successful project delivery.
- Manage and maintain an accurate inventory of COMSEC materials, including cryptographic keys, ensuring adherence to security protocols.
- Lead the installation, operation, and upkeep of COMSEC devices and software to guarantee compliance with security measures.
- Provide technical assistance and mentorship to team members and end-users.
- Stay informed on evolving DoD policies and best practices concerning network security and design.
- Implement effective security measures to safeguard network infrastructure and data.
Basic Qualifications: - Must be a U.S. Citizen with at least a Top Secret Clearance and the capability to obtain an SCI prior to starting.
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience; additional experience may substitute for formal education.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, security standards, and design principles across OSI Layers 1-4.
- Proven experience in the installation and configuration of physical networking equipment and Local Area Networks (LANs).
- Extensive experience with the design and deployment of Wide Area Networks (WANs), particularly with VPN technologies.
- Experience with cloud network technologies, especially Microsoft Azure (vNETs, VPN Gateway, Virtual WAN, Express Routes, Azure Firewall, etc.).
- Proficient in configuring and managing COMSEC devices.
- Familiarity with network management and troubleshooting tools, such as ICMP, SNMPv3, and Syslog.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or other DoD 8140-required certifications.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working with DoD networks, especially classified and operational systems.
- Knowledge of operating and employing cryptographic devices for secure networking via VPN.
- Experience configuring VPNs using technologies like Juniper Secure Connect, Azure VPN Gateway, MPLS, or IPsec.
- Experience in managing networks remotely through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC).
- Certification from the NSA COMSEC Manager Course is preferred.
- Experience in network performance monitoring and optimization.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices and risk management, chiefly at OSI layers 1-3.
- Prior experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity within a technical environment.
- Awareness of emerging technologies and trends in network infrastructure.

Pay Range: Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
