Lead ML Engineer (Top Secret Clearance) with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Lead ML Engineer to support an Army program, on-site at Fort Belvoir, VA . This position requires an active Top Secret clearance . The Lead ML Engineer will assist a US Army Command to create cybersecurity solutions that are ML-driven within a cloud-based environment. This job is open for applications on 5/29/25. Responsibilities for the Lead ML Engineer include: Work directly with stakeholders to understand requirements Liaise with government software vendors and other asset creators Lead coordination of point solutions into broader capabilities for Army Defense Cyber Operations Requirements for the Lead ML Engineer include: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field Master's or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or similar 8+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing (excluding internships) Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Java) Familiarity with agile development methodologies Certifications in Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence / Data Science Ability to work independently and in a team environment Proven track record of delivering ML models that solve real-world problems Experience mentoring and coaching junior team members Ability to liaise with government software vendors and integrate point solutions into broader capabilities Experience with Scala (in addition to Python/Java) Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S Government Top Secret Clearance.
