Position Overview: The Lead Loan Coordinator is crucial in maintaining the accuracy of customer and loan data throughout the loan application and product packaging process. As a key partner to Relationship Managers (RMs), you will collaborate on complex loan requests, renewals, modifications, and other customer inquiries. You will be the main point of contact across various supporting departments, including Compliance, Loan Documentation, and Loan Servicing, and build strong relationships with our external customers and third-party vendors. Additionally, this role involves training new Loan Coordinators to ensure their effective onboarding.
Key Responsibilities: - Maintain a strong understanding of the Bank's credit culture, advising Relationship Managers on any deviations from standard practices.
- Serve as a resource for Relationship Managers regarding loan operations and processing within the loan origination system.
- Act as a liaison for internal departments throughout the loan processing stages.
- Independently manage annual renewals, new loan requests, and monthly reporting tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ensure timely completion of daily processes and meet deadlines during high-volume periods, such as month-end and year-end.
- Input customer and loan information into the Bank's loan origination system, focusing on data integrity.
- Collect all pre-closing documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, gathering necessary data and addressing general customer service inquiries per RM instructions.
- Review closed loan packages to verify compliance with loan policies.
- Process Change Memos for adjustments made post-approval.
- Oversee recordation and collateral perfection as needed.
- Assist in resolving exception items and provide guidance to other Loan Coordinators.
- Collaborate in the creation of monthly monitoring reports for Unit and RM teams.
- Support processing and response to daily overdrafts as per RM directives.
- Facilitate the preparation of required financial information for Credit Department analysis.
- Act as backup for other Loan Coordinators during high-volume periods and vacations.
- Participate in internal committees and task forces, as requested.
- Execute other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Diverse skill set, showcasing flexibility, commitment, and sound judgment in a collaborative setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other proprietary banking systems.
- Ability to work independently under pressure while maintaining strong organizational skills.
Education and Experience: - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Consumer and Commercial Loan Coordination.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Commercial & Industrial (C&I), Commercial Real Estate (CRE), and Consumer lending processes.
- Familiarity with attorney-prepared documentation is advantageous.
Technical Skills: - Proficient in personal computer operations, Microsoft Office, and bank-specific software such as Bankway and Salesforce.
