Lead iOS Mobile Developer

We're supporting a major enterprise tech team that's modernizing its mobile platforms and looking for a Lead iOS Developer with deep native experience and strong leadership chops. This is a contract-to-hire role with high visibility and technical ownership opportunities across multiple app initiatives.

The right candidate is someone who can both architect and build sophisticated iOS solutions using Swift and SwiftUI, lead junior developers, and partner closely with Product, Design, and QA teams in an Agile setting.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as Lead Developer on native iOS projects-guiding development efforts and ensuring delivery excellence across teams.

Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, QA, and offshore developers to deliver modern, scalable mobile applications.

Hands-on design, coding, testing, and implementation using Swift, SwiftUI, Xcode, and Cocoa Touch.

Participate fully in the software development lifecycle, including new builds and ongoing system support.

Conduct code reviews, provide architectural guidance, and mentor junior/onshore/offshore team members.

Champion Test-Driven Development (TDD) and write unit tests to ensure code quality.

Actively monitor application performance and troubleshoot any system issues.

Stay current on emerging tech and apply new tools and practices quickly and effectively.

Must-Have Qualifications

9+ years of software development experience with a focus on mobile apps.

At least 7 years of hands-on native iOS development.

Proven experience leading mobile teams or acting as a technical lead on high-visibility iOS projects.

Deep knowledge of Swift, SwiftUI, and core iOS frameworks (Cocoa Touch, Core Services, Core OS, XCTest).

Experience using Xcode, Swift Package Manager, and Apple's distribution tools.

Agile environment experience and comfort working across cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-Haves (Bonus)

Knowledge of Objective-C, C , or hybrid frameworks.

Familiarity with OAuth, Realm, Firebase, or Google Analytics.

Experience with containerization tools like Docker, OpenShift, or Kubernetes.

Exposure to backend tools: Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, iBatis, SQL.

Experience working with relational databases: Oracle, DB2, MS SQL Server.

Previous work using Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, or Bamboo.
