ECS is seeking a Lead Information Systems Security Engineer to work in our Fairfax, VA office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

ECS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Information Systems Security Engineer to support a National Security client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of security solutions to protect our organization's information systems and networks. As the Lead Information Systems Security Engineer, you will oversee the technical aspects of security architecture, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical systems and data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce security policies, manage risks, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead teams in the design, implementation, and maintenance of Information Assurance infrastructure.

• Lead teams to execute the deployment of security tools and technologies and troubleshooting security issues.

• Lead security Information Assurance assessments and audits.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in IT security and information assurance technologies; knowledge of current and emerging cybersecurity technologies, tools, operating systems, network and security best practices

• Leadership Experience: Strong experience in leading a team, managing projects, and providing technical guidance to junior team members is crucial

• Communication: Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences; ability to communicate effectively across multiple cybersecurity functions.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle security incidents and vulnerabilities.

• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with other IT teams and stakeholders.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field; OR

• Master's degree in a relevant field can be beneficial and may enhance your qualifications.

All the following certifications are desired, but only one certification is required.

• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional): Widely recognized and highly valued in the industry.

• CISM (Certified Information Security Manager): Focuses on management and governance of information security.

• CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor): Emphasizes auditing, control, and assurance of information systems.

• Other Certifications: Additional certifications like CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), GSLC (GIAC Security Leadership), CASP (Certified Advanced Security Professional), and others can also be advantageous.
