Reportwell is seeking an experienced software engineer to join our team as a Lead Developer. Reportwell is a small but growing Software Startup with some excellent traction and momentum. We've secured significant investment, and have a customer base producing revenue from several contracts which are already underway. On top of that, the product itwself is something that is genuinely good for society: Reportwell legitimately helps schools, districts and state governments achieve compliant Education reporting far more easily and efficiently than the solutions of the past.

Logistics:
- Full-time, W2 employment
- Salary ($90-150k, possibly more) + 10% Bonus opportunity
- Benefits:
- Health, Dental, Vision
- 401k with Match (1-to-1 up to 6% of salary, 3 year vesting)
- PTO: 25 days + Holidays
- Remote right now
- However, expectation of 2-3 days per week in person once Detroit office is up-and-running (undetermined timeline on that)
- Office will be somewhere in downtown Detroit, possibly in Midtown
- Schedule:
- EST mostly, but working with team members as far west as CA
- So availability primarily around 9 am-6 pm EST expected
- Pretty flexible on: actual work hours/time, which days are in office, and exactly what hours you keep
- Company issued laptop
Experience:
- 5-10 years of full-time, professional coding experience expected
- We expect you to be able to communicate or demonstrate a clear portfolio of great things you have built in the past
- Primary technical proficiencies we're looking for:
- Django
- Python
- AWS (certified preferred)
- Typescript
- Javascript
- AI Integration experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- Fullstack involvement, but mostly Backend focused for the near future
- Primary initial focus would be helping the team complete re-writing of entire product in a different language/framework
- Strategic Technical Input
- Working closely with Leadership team, continuously providing input on Product(s) Technical Roadmap
- You'll often be coding from nothing
- We're looking for a developer to build new features, sometimes entirely on your own
- No direct management responsibility at this time

- You'll report to the Founder who has been Head of Product Team since Day 1
- You'll work with 4-5 other developers (some full-time, some part-time contractors) on a weekly basis
