This position will be based in Clearwater, FL.

Honeywell's Aerospace organization is a worldwide leader in the development of flight controls, displays, guidance and navigation systems, and inertial instruments. The Aerospace-Clearwater facility has a long heritage of designing, developing and manufacturing products for Space and Defense applications.

The successful candidate will join the Honeywell Engineering Test Services (ETS) organization as a Test Equipment Engineer, with the title of Engineer II Hardware. In this role, primary responsibility will be to develop and deploy test equipment for avionics products that may span both Space and Defense product lines. This position requires ability to establish and maintain close professional relationships with project leadership, product engineering, test engineering, and manufacturing personnel. The candidate will work with a group of engineers and technicians in the development of test equipment that will be deployed for internal or customer use. The individual must have excellent interpersonal skills to work in a small team atmosphere.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

MUST HAVE:

1 or more years of related test equipment/hardware experience (Motion Simulators, HALT/HASS/O2, etc.)

We Value:

Optical-mechanical background in optical tooling and electronic test equipment with hands-on experience.

  • 2-year Technical degree in Electronics or military experience degree in Electrical or Electronic

Electro-mechanical experience, ie electrical motors, cranes, machine shop equipment etc

Experience with trouble-shooting the test equipment from the system level to the component level.

Experience in technical writing.

Experience in utilizing test and measurement equipment (meters, analyzers, scopes).

Experience in working with cross functional organizations.

Proficient with computer tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint are required); (MS Project, Visio, and PSPICE) are a plus.

Familiar with instrumentation and communication busses (GPIB, MIL-STD-1553, FireWire, RS-232, RS-422, and Wireless are a plus.

Proficient with the Honeywell Work Request System (WRS).

Experience and flexibility to juggle multiple tasks.

Familiar with Honeywell Space tools and processes is a plus.

Experience providing support to existing Legacy test equipment.

Proficiency in releasing documents in both AeroPDM and Space PDM.

Anticipate problems, recognize and eliminate barriers.

Demonstrate ability to help senior engineers in the planning and organizing of complex technical projects.

Understand technology and management concepts required for Honeywell products and processes.

Good people skills and the ability to work effectively with other organizations and individuals at all levels with a positive, can-do attitude.

Ability to work well as a member of a team.

Able to adapt well to a changing environment.
