Title: LEAD PROJECT ENGINEER Location: The Woodlands, TX Travel:
RESPONSIBILITIES
•  Directly responsible to oversee project engineers progress on assigned projects from start to finish from hand off from Business Development to project close out.
•  Familiarity with putting together permit applications and submittals for TxDOT, County, City, and any other authority that has jurisdiction over areas where gas/fiber infrastructure is installed.
•  Will guide and mentor one or more Engineers on all design projects that are designated.
•  Design tasks may include layout of offsite and onsite natural gas and fiber optic systems.
•  Act as point of contact with agency reviewers, developers, engineers, and others involved in project.
•  Plans, designs, and oversees engineering projects, such as natural gas pipelines and fiber optic cable.
•  Calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data, applying knowledge and techniques of engineering, and advanced mathematics.
•  Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project.
•  Inspects construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
•  May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
•  Education/Experience:
•  Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
•  3-6 years of related experience
•  Registered Professional Engineer in Texas
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•  Strong technical skills including proficiency in AutoCAD
•  Understanding of Texas RRC regulatory requirements pertaining to natural gas distribution and transmission operations.
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•  Detailed and in-depth understanding of local codes and regulation
•  Proficiency in the use of computer software programs, including spreadsheets, word processing, database, and PDF applications.
•  Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with personnel at all levels, both within and outside the company.
•  Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
•  Highly organized and attentive to detail with excellent follow-through skills.
•  Travel
Preferred Qualifications:
•  Cumulative GPA over 3.3 preferred
•  Experience using AutoCAD, GIS, and software is preferred
