Petroplan is working exclusively with a global energy company to staff the infrastructure an exciting LNG production and export terminal mega-project. We are recruiting a talented Lead Electrical Engineer professional with a focus on Pipelines for a position based in Houston, TX who meets the following criteria:

Purpose
The Electrical Engineer is a critical role responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical systems and equipment for the client's Pipeline Project. This position involves managing maintenance operations, resolving electrical issues, and implementing both preventive and corrective measures to optimize system performance.

Reports To: Engineering Manager

HSEQ
  • Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring all electrical systems and maintenance activities comply with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
  • Conduct risk assessments, where required, enforce safety measures for electrical-related activities to minimize operational impact.
Leadership
  • Lead and mentor maintenance teams, fostering knowledge-sharing and adherence to best practices in electrical systems and reliability.
  • Provide technical training and guidance to ensure team competency and alignment with organizational goals.
Work Processes & Systems
  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies for electrical systems that align with project timelines and operational objectives.
  • Establish and manage preventive maintenance programs, optimizing scheduling and execution to reduce downtime.
  • Maintain detailed records of electrical equipment, including specifications, performance data, and maintenance history, ensuring traceability and informed decision-making.

Technical
  • Conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical equipment, identifying and resolving potential issues promptly.
  • Perform reliability analyses to enhance system performance, reduce disruptions, and support long-term asset sustainability.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical problems and implement corrective actions in collaboration with maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Oversee compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards to maintain operational excellence.
Skills & Experience
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and diagnostics specifically Electric-Driven Compression (Baker Hughes ICL technology, VFDs, and associated controls.
  • Proficiency with electrical testing tools and reliability-focused methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex technical challenges effectively.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to high accuracy and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
  • 15 or more years of experience in Electrical Engineering role, emphasizing maintenance and reliability within the energy or industrial sector.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, industry codes, and cost-effective maintenance practices.
