Position Summary We are currently looking for an experience Data Scientist to join Credit One's Decision Management team within the Products department. The team's mission is to leverage data and analytical techniques to facilitate future Bank growth by shaping information into a single point of decision for the organization. This is an individual contributor role, and a successful candidate will build a deep understanding of Credit One's various customer acquisition strategies and be able to break down any process into its parts and provide precise insights and predictions. As an SME on acquisition strategy, the ability to navigate many resources including campaign sign offs and reports, various types of documentation, custom tools and models, familiar and unfamiliar data, and discussions with key partners will be crucial in obtaining and maintaining the strategic knowledge necessary to support the team. Common responsibilities will include designing and reading tests for new products, models, tools, and acquisition strategies; conducting "what-if-scenario" analyses to predict how an isolated change would impact the current environment; investigating unexpected results to a test or new process; and proposing new strategies by identifying opportunities for improvement. Summary of Essential Job Functions
  • Evaluate the viability of new products, partnerships, and new business strategies
  • Apply statistical techniques to deliver accretive strategies across targeting, universe expansion, cutoff analysis, product mix optimization, and score utilization
  • Lead analyses to evaluate the risk and profitability of new and existing programs across the entire credit spectrum.
  • Analyze, review and provide recommendations to improve and streamline models, reports, and analyses prepared by others
  • Present findings to upper management and make recommendations for improvements
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as requested, amid larger, long-term projects
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related quantitative field
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis (industry experience is a plus)
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and solve complex problems with a curious mind
  • A thorough knowledge of writing SQL queries and a passion for data
  • Familiarity or working experience with any scripting language
  • Advanced excel skills and the ability to build, understand, and follow complex models
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a small team on a day-to-day basis
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented and analytically savvy with strong research skills
Preferred (Not Required):
  • Advanced quantitative degree
  • Familiarity with the credit bureau data, consumer credit regulations, and credit in general
  • Experience in product development, product management, model development, model governance, and/or credit risk management
  • Comfortable with public speaking, whether prepared or impromptu
