This position is part of the Small Business Card team, where collaboration with credit business partners allows us to enhance and create new capabilities for our card offerings. The ideal candidate possesses a solid data engineering background, excellent communication skills, and a desire to work alongside a diverse team of engineers, Data Scientists, and business analysts.
What You'll Do: - Engage with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support innovative technical solutions across a variety of full-stack development tools and technologies.
- Collaborate with a team of developers who have extensive experience in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full-stack systems.
- Utilize programming languages such as Java, Scala, and Python, as well as both Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, alongside cloud-based data warehousing services like Redshift and Snowflake.
- Stay current with technology trends, explore and experiment with new technologies, and actively participate in both internal and external tech communities, while also mentoring fellow engineers.
- Partner with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions aimed at empowering millions of Americans financially.
- Conduct unit testing and peer reviews to ensure your code is well-designed, efficiently coded, and optimized for high performance.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree
- At least 3 years of experience in application development (Internship experience does not apply)
- At least 1 year of experience in big data technologies
Preferred Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in application development with Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
- 2+ years of experience with public cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
- 3+ years of experience with Distributed data/computing tools (MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL)
- 2+ years of experience working with Real-Time data and streaming applications
- 2+ years of experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)
- 2+ years of experience in data warehousing (Redshift or Snowflake)
- 3+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux, including basic commands and Shell Scripting
- 2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices
Location: McLean, VA. The minimum and maximum annual salaries for this role are $158,600 - $181,000 for Senior Data Engineer.
