About Capital One Dealer Tech Auto Finance Capital One Dealer Tech Auto is a pioneering division within Capital One Financial Services that focuses on state-of-the-art auto loan technology. We partner with car dealerships across the nation to facilitate the origination of significant volumes of auto loan contracts, continually striving to enhance the sales and funding process with innovative solutions.
What You'll Be Doing: - Collaborate with your team to design and build a robust, scalable, and fault-tolerant streaming data platform that delivers timely and impactful insights.
- Develop the next generation of Distributed Streaming Data Pipelines and Analytics Data Stores utilizing leading frameworks such as Flink and Spark Streaming, along with programming languages like Java, Scala, or Python.
- Contribute to building data pipelines using big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Flink, Kafka, Snowflake, and AWS Big Data Services) on medium to large datasets.
- Engage in an agile environment focused on Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and application resiliency, working closely with Cyber & Security teams.
- Stay ahead of technology trends, mentor peers, and participate meaningfully in tech communities, while constantly experimenting with new technologies.
- Work in synergy with Agile teams to design, develop, test, and support technical solutions across full-stack development tools and technologies.
- Team up with developers who specialize in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems.
- Partner with digital product managers to deliver comprehensive cloud-based solutions that enhance user experiences, empowering millions of Americans financially.
- Conduct unit tests and perform rigorous code reviews to ensure high-quality, optimized performance in your outputs.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree
- At least 3 years of application development experience (excluding internship experience)
- At least 1 year of experience with big data technologies
Preferred Qualifications: - 5+ years of application development experience, particularly with Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
- 2+ years of experience utilizing public cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud)
- 3+ years of experience with distributed data computing tools (e.g., Kafka, Spark, or Flink)
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in real-time data and streaming applications
- 2+ years with NoSQL implementation (DynamoDB, OpenSearch)
- 2+ years of data warehousing experience (preferably with Redshift or Snowflake)
- 3+ years of proficiency in UNIX/Linux, including basic command usage and Shell Scripting
- 2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices

Salary Information: The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role have been listed, depending on the location:
McLean, VA: $158,600 - $181,000 for Senior Data Engineer
Plano, TX: $144,200 - $164,600 for Senior Data Engineer
Compensation also includes performance-based incentives which may contain bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
