Overview:
A fast-growing tech-forward organization is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and scale modern data solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, test, and support scalable data solutions
- Lead development across Agile teams with full-stack technologies
- Use languages and tools like Python, Java, Scala, SQL, Snowflake, Redshift, and NoSQL databases
- Build real-time streaming and batch data pipelines using modern tools (Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Hive, etc.)
- Leverage cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) to build efficient data systems
- Mentor team members and contribute to technical strategy
- Stay current with industry trends and new technologies
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in software or data engineering
- At least 2 years working with big data technologies
- Minimum 1 year of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience with Python, SQL, Java, or Scala
- 4+ years of cloud computing experience
- 4+ years building with distributed computing tools (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Hive, Hadoop)
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB)
- Proficiency with Redshift, Snowflake, or other cloud data warehouses
- Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux and shell scripting
- Background in Agile development practices
