The Multi-domain Solutions Division (MDS) within the Leidos National Security Sector is eager to welcome a talented Lead Cybersecurity Engineer as part of a new cyber security initiative aimed at supporting critical government systems. This role is pivotal to the development, integration, delivery, and operation of IT managed security services designed to enhance monitoring and situational awareness of cybersecurity threats and security postures across the enterprise. This position is anticipated in advance of a potential future contract award.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the design, implementation, and optimization of comprehensive security solutions organization-wide.
  • As a senior technical expert, significantly contributing to the creation of advanced security architectures, addressing cyber threats, and ensuring compliance with industry security standards.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to incorporate security into system designs, fostering innovation, and spearheading security initiatives across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
  • Architecting, developing, and implementing sophisticated cybersecurity strategies to safeguard enterprise networks, applications, and data.
  • Overseeing the evaluation and incorporation of cutting-edge security technologies to bolster threat detection, response capabilities, and risk management.
  • Conducting thorough security assessments including penetration testing, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Defining and enforcing security policies, frameworks, and industry best practices aligned with NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK, and more.
  • Designing and implementing security controls within cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), on-premises, and hybrid settings.
  • Partnering with DevOps and software engineering teams to embed security into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Developing Zero Trust architectures and strategies to strengthen the enterprise security posture.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert (SME) in threat intelligence, cyber defense operations, and security engineering.
  • Providing mentorship and technical leadership to security engineers, analysts, and IT teams.
  • Leading incident response efforts, forensic investigations, and root cause analyses following security breaches.
  • Staying ahead of emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and effective mitigation strategies to proactively defend organizational assets.
What we require from you:
  • An active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) with Polygraph security clearance is mandatory. U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree and 8 to 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6 to 10 years of related experience. Doctorate holders in a technical domain may substitute experience in lieu of a degree.
It would be advantageous if you have:
  • CompTIA Network+ certification.
  • CISSP or another IAT III certification.

Compensation Range: Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00 This pay range for this position serves as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include the responsibilities associated with the role, education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, market competitiveness, applicable collective bargaining agreements (if any), and other legal considerations.
