About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Lead Counsel with expertise in product and privacy matters. You will play a key role in shaping our legal strategies and supporting product development and compliance efforts across various teams. Your insight will guide our technology-focused initiatives while ensuring adherence to privacy laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate will serve as the primary legal advisor for product and engineering teams, implement and manage open-source policies, and lead compliance initiatives within our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) program. A deep understanding of privacy regulations, data governance, and open-source compliance is essential.

You'll need to have a JD from a respected law school, active membership in a state bar, and at least 8 years of meaningful legal experience, with a robust focus on product counseling for at least 6 years in-house. Experience advising on privacy and product-related regulatory matters, particularly in contexts involving open-source software and SDLC, is vital. Strong analytical skills, a solid grasp of software engineering concepts, and the ability to navigate complex legal challenges are crucial for success in this position.

In-house experience at a global technology or telecommunications company is highly preferred. Certifications like IAPP CIPP or a willingness to obtain such certification will enhance your candidacy. We value diversity and inclusivity and welcome applicants who align with our values.
