Qualifications
  • 1+ years cook or stocker experience (Required).
  • High school diploma or GED (Required).
  • Previous Healthcare/Senior Living experience a plus.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and accurately follow recipes, diet extensions and meal tickets in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees in the organization.
Essential Duties:
  • Facilitates coordination among all departments & divisions of eliseo in delivery of services. Ensures consistent action is taken by all employees, volunteers, and visitors to comply with HIPAA security/privacy regulations regarding confidential patient records and information.
  • Collaborates with fellow team members to ensure everyone's success in providing the residents and guests service and products of the highest quality and a positive and professional culture.
  • Orders food and supplies according to Stock List for the current menu rotation.
  • Receives orders, paying special attention to quality and that any product ordered has been received. Puts orders away following the FIFO (first in first out) principles. Maintains the organization of the storerooms to ensure products can easily be found. Works with the Executive Chef to ensure that product is used before it goes bad.
  • Checks in with Executive Chef on priorities for the day once food order is placed or put away.
  • Continues to build on what has been delegated to effectively manage the days priorities.
  • Assists in overseeing that food and beverages are prepared according to CMS and HACCP guidelines. Utilizes kitchen audit tool as delegated. Reports areas of concern to the Executive Chef. Assists in directing activities of Dining Services workers to ensure CMS guidelines and company policies are consistently upheld. For example (including but not limited to): meals are served on a consistent schedule, residents' dietary needs and preferences are met, logs are completed, food is prepared safely and sanitarily, etc. Communicates with Executive Chef or Culinary Director if there are concerns with any employees in the execution of the above.
  • Assists in leading huddles on possible training opportunities. Communicates identified training opportunities with Executive Chef.
  • Reports any equipment or safety concerns to Executive Chef.
  • Participates in the success of events when scheduled.
  • Oversees emergency food supply to ensure that products are rotated before they expire.
  • Assists with organization of all Dining Services storage areas.
  • Assists with completing monthly inventory.
  • Assists with audits in Health Center, Assisted Living and Northridge kitchen, dining and Utility room areas.
