About the Role
A Lead Content Designer is an expert practitioner responsible for setting standards, mentoring colleagues, and leading content design and user-centered design (UCD) approaches across multiple teams or complex services. They work autonomously, influence stakeholders, and ensure high-quality, user-focused content that aligns with client objectives and meets accessibility standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall UCD approach within your service team.
- Ensure the quality of content delivery and set Made Tech's design standards.
- Produce high-quality, user-focused content.
- Facilitate shared understanding of problems and testing ideas within teams.
- Ensure services are accessible to all users.
- Meet the government Service Standard through content and design best practices.
- Demonstrate good content sharing and improvement habits.
- Manage content across multiple channels and oversee its effectiveness.
- Build client relationships and understand their needs.
- Support business development through UCD expertise in bids.
- Identify skill gaps and support team development.
- Lead or support hiring and onboarding of designers.
- Promote a healthy, supportive community of practice.
- Represent content design internally and publicly.
