OverviewLead Configuration Manager - Shape the Future of Space Exploration with NASA Astrion, in partnership and NASA, is looking for a Lead Configuration Manager to support Gateway Xlabs at Johnson Space Center (JSC). This role is essential in establishing and leading a team responsible for managing hardware and software configurations across multiple test and verification labs supporting NASA's Gateway program-a key part of humanity's return to the Moon and future missions to Mars.

Why This Role Matters As the Lead Configuration Manager, you'll be the go-to expert for all NASA JSC Gateway Test & Verification (T&V) labs. You'll ensure that all hardware and software configurations are aligned, compliant, and ready for mission-critical testing. Your work will directly impact the success of NASA's deep space exploration programs by maintaining the integrity and reliability of test environments.

What You'll Do Develop and implement configuration management systems, processes, and policies
Oversee hardware and software version control to ensure alignment with test requirements
Collaborate with engineers, system owners, and stakeholders to manage test configurations
Maintain and track lab configurations to support NASA's evolving project demands
Represent the lab at key meetings including Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)
Perform audits and ensure compliance with NASA's configuration management standards

Who We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
10+ years of experience in configuration management and aerospace systems required
Strong understanding of aerospace industry standards and CM processes
Experience with CM tools like DOORS, Jira, Eclipse
Ability to manage multiple tasks, teams, and projects in a dynamic environment
Exceptional communication skills to work with interdisciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications Experience with NASA/JSC configuration management standards and practices
Configuration management certifications (CMII, CM, SEMC, etc.)
Prior team leadership and management experience
